About diplomatic ranks of Ukraine
This Law establishes diplomatic ranks in Ukraine, determines procedure for their assignment and deprivation.
The diplomatic rank is special rank which is given by the government employee according to this Law.
In Ukraine the following diplomatic ranks are established:
Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary;
Minister extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the first class;
Minister extraordinary and plenipotentiary of second class;
adviser of the first class;
adviser of second class;
first secretary of the first class;
first secretary of second class;
second secretary of the first class;
second secretary of second class;
third secretary;
attache.
Diplomatic ranks from the Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the attache are equated to ranks of government employees according to the first on the eleventh rank.
The diplomatic worker to whom the diplomatic rank is appropriated according to its statement can be in the diplomatic service before achievement of 65-year age by it.
Diplomatic ranks are appropriated to persons who are in public service, the principles, task and which function correspond to diplomatic service in Ukraine and are determined by the Law of Ukraine "About diplomatic service", and being government employees according to the Law of Ukraine "About public service".
To the government employee working in system of bodies of diplomatic service, the diplomatic rank is appropriated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
