About the Constitutional court of the Kyrgyz Republic
The constitutional court of the Kyrgyz Republic (further the Constitutional court) is the supreme body of judicial authority on protection of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The constitutional court is established for the purpose of ensuring rule of the Constitution of the Republic in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, protection of the Constitutional system, the rights and freedoms of citizens.
The constitutional court acts on the basis of legality, collective nature and publicity, is independent and submits only to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The organization, competence and procedure for activities of the Constitutional court is determined by the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, this Law and the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "About the constitutional legal proceedings of the Kyrgyz Republic".
On the internal matters of the activities which are not settled by the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Constitutional court has the right to accept the Regulations of the Constitutional court which are not contradicting the current legislation.
The constitutional court consists of nine judges: Chairman, vice-chairman and seven judges of the Constitutional court of the Kyrgyz Republic.
