Procedure for confirmation of characteristics of precious metals

1. This Procedure establishes rules of confirmation of characteristics of precious metals to requirements of the documents for standardization establishing characteristics of precious metals, Federal assay chamber, and also the legal entities and individual entrepreneurs accredited in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation about accreditation in national accreditation system <1> (further respectively - accredited legal entities, accredited individual entrepreneurs).

2. Confirmation of characteristics of precious metals is performed when implementing the transactions specified in the list determined by the Government of the Russian Federation according to Item 1 of article 14 of the Federal Law of March 26, 1998 No. 41-FZ "About precious metals and gemstones" (further - the List).

3. Confirmation of characteristics of precious metals includes including the following stages:

a) check of general (ligaturny) mass of lot of products, substances, the materials containing precious metals (further - batch of precious metals);

b) sampling and (or) samples of precious metals;

c) carrying out the quantitative chemical analysis of the selected tests and (or) samples of precious metals.

For the purposes of confirmation of characteristics of precious metals by Federal assay chamber, and also the accredited legal entities accredited by individual entrepreneurs test of precious metal, mass of precious metal (in ligature and in terms of chemically net precious metals), and also physical properties of batch of precious metals (color, flowability, particle size distribution, humidity) are established.
