About police of Turkmenistan
The police is the state law enforcement agency in system of law-enforcement bodies performing protection of public order, protection of life, health, the rights, freedoms, honor and advantage of citizens, interests of society and the state from criminal and other illegal encroachments.
The legal basis of activities of police is constituted by the Constitution of Turkmenistan, this Law, the Law "About Law-enforcement Bodies of Turkmenistan", other laws of Turkmenistan, acts of the President of Turkmenistan, the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and other regulatory legal acts, and also rules of international law recognized by Turkmenistan accepted according to them.
Activities of police are performed according to the principles of activities of law-enforcement bodies established by the Law of Turkmenistan "About law-enforcement bodies of Turkmenistan".
