This Law governs the relations connected with development of donorship of blood and its components, providing complex of social, economic, legal, medical measures in the organization of donorship of blood and its components, protection of the rights of donors in the Republic of Belarus.
Donorship of blood and its components - voluntary surrender by person of blood or its components for medical needs, manifestation by it of humanity and mercy, its honourable contribution to protection of public health of the Republic of Belarus.

Blood donors and its components - persons who are voluntarily taking the blood test and its components for medical needs.
Each capable citizen of the Republic of Belarus who reached 18-year age, had medical examination and not having diseases in case of which donorship is contraindicated can be the blood donor and its components.
The legislation of the Republic of Belarus on donorship of blood and its components consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
