In recent years the large-scale reforms directed to enhancement of the currency sphere, regulation of the relations connected with turnover of precious metals and gemstones are performed.
At the same time in the field of fight against illicit trafficking in currency values there is number of problems and legal gaps, there is need of their elimination.
This Law to the Criminal code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the administrative responsibility makes the additions providing administrative and criminal liability for illegal acquisition or sale of precious metals and gemstones and also mutually concepts in the field of currency, precious metals and gemstones correspond. Besides, cancellation of the administrative responsibility for evasion from obligatory sale of part of currency earnings is provided.
This Law will serve ensuring uniform application of acts of the legislation in the field of currency, and also precious metals and gemstones, to the early prevention of offenses and ensuring inevitability of punishment for crime.
