About entering of amendments and changes into the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "About publishing activities"

In recent years in the country the consecutive measures directed to enhancement of the sphere of publishing activities, support of the edition of high-quality literature, and also promoting of culture of reading are performed.
For the purpose of system continuation of these measures this Law makes additions and changes to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "About publishing activities", the publishing houses directed to establishment of legal status of the editor-in-chief and stimulation of culture of reading.
This Law serves providing the high-quality edition of printed material according to the legislation, and also to cultural development of reading in society.
Article 1. Bring in the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "About publishing activities" of November 26, 2021 No. ZRU-731 (Sheets of chambers of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 2021, No. 11, Article 1063; 2022, No. 11, Article 1061) following amendments and changes:
The fifth paragraph of part two of Article 6 to add 1) with the words "reading stimulation";
To add 2) with Article 15-1 of the following content:
"Article 15-1. Editor-in-chief
The editor-in-chief is person who directs creative activities of editorial office of publishing house, bears responsibility for development of thematic plans of publishing house and preparation of editions according to requirements of the legislation, and also technical regulations (national standards) in the field of publishing activities.
Person having the higher education and length of service in publishing activities at least three years is appointed to position of the editor-in-chief. The editor-in-chief is appointed to position and dismissed by the founder (founders) or the head of the organization.
The decision on release of printed materials of publishing house is made by the editor-in-chief.
