About introduction of temporary protective trade measure in the domestic market

Based on article 10 of the Law No. 1031/2000 on state regulation of foreign trade activity (The official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 2000, Art. No. 119-120, 838), with subsequent changes, and the Law No. 120/2007 on ratification of the Agreement on modification and accession to the Central European free-trade agreement (CEFTA) (The official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 2007, Art. No. 70-73, 330) DECIDES: the Government

1. Within 200 calendar days from the effective date of this resolution the temporary protective trade measure in the domestic market based on provisions of article 23 bis of the Agreement on modification and accession to the Central European free-trade agreement (CEFTA) signed in Bucharest on December 19, 2006 and ratified by the Law No. 120/2007, which consists in temporary suspension of release from the customs duties on import to the Republic of Moldova of the white sugar from sugar beet coming from the Republic Serbia, classified by tariff line item 1701 99, in case of exceeding of quota in the amount of 1 000 tons is applied.

2. The customs duty according to the Combined commodity nomenclature approved by the Law No. 172/2014 is applied to the imported amount exceeding the quota established in Item 1,.

3. To keep account of the approved tariff quotas according to the principle "the first came - by the first it is serviced" based on registration of the customs declaration in the Integrated information system of Customs Service and within the established amounts.

4. This resolution becomes effective from the date of publication in the Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova.
