About the state awards of the Republic of Moldova

The parliament adopts this organic law.

Chapter I. General provisions

Art. 1. - (1) the State awards of the Republic of Moldova (further - the state awards) are the highest expression of official recognition and assessment of outstanding merits before the state and the people of the Republic of Moldova, special achievements in activities and other significant contribution to development of society.

(2) the State awards are established by Parliament according to the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova.

Art. 2. - (1) the State awards can be the state awards for merits and memorable state awards.

(2) the State awards for merits are established by this law and include in decreasing order of award seniority, crosses, medals and honorary titles.

(3) Memorable state awards are established by the ordinary laws and include memorable crosses, commemorative medals and memorable signs.

Art. 3. - (1) Any state award is established by approval of its statute which includes:

a) statement of merits for which the award is awarded;

b) transfer of degrees in the presence of those;

c) specifying of additional special terms of assignment (working life or length of service, special provisions for each degree and so on);

d) the description of sample of authorized faleristichesky sign of award and samples of replacement faleristichesky signs if they are provided.

(2) Awards, crosses and medals exist in two various physical shapes having the equal hierarchical and symbolical importance: authorized faleristichesky sign (actually metal sign with tape/chain and other attributes or without them) and replacement level.

(3) the Replacement level of the state award rectangular, 30 mm wide and 12 mm high, is made of metal or plastic with slightly convex surface and it is fitted by tape of the corresponding award. Tape width - 30 mm. Some replacement levels can have slips over the fitted tape. On the back the replacing level there is device for fixture.

(4) Signs of honorary titles are made in single physical shape - authorized faleristichesky sign - and have no replacement signs.

Chapter II. System and hierarchy of the state awards for merits

Art. 4. - (1) the Award represents the highest exclusive state award of the national level and the highest faleristichesky category in system of the state awards.

(2) the following awards Are established:

a) award "Ordinul Republicii";

b) award "Stefan cel Mare";

c) award "Bogdan Intemeietorul";

d) award "Ordinul Onoarei";

e) award "Ordinul Libertatii";

f) award "Credinta Patriei";

g) award "Ordinul Muncii".

Art. 5. - (1) the Cross represents the faleristichesky category in system of the state awards holding position it is direct below award and medals are higher.

(2) the following crosses Are established:

a) cross of "Meritul Militar";

b) cross of "Crucea Misiunilor Internationale".

Art. 6. - (1) the Medal represents the faleristichesky category in system of the state awards holding position is lower than award and cross.

(2) the following medals Are established:

a) medal "Pentru Vitejie";

b) medal "Meritul Civic";

c) medal "Meritul Academic";

d) medal "Mihai Eminescu";

e) medal "Nicolae Testemitanu".

Art. 7. - (1) the Honorary title represents the faleristichesky category in system of the state awards holding position awards are lower, than cross and medal.

(2) the following honorary titles Are established:

a) honorary title of "Artist al Poporului";

b) honorary title of "Maestru in Arta";

c) honorary title of "Maestru al Literaturii";

d) honorary title of "Om Emerit";

e) honorary title of "Artist Emerit";

f) honorary title of "Mester-Faur";

g) honorary title of "Colectiv Artistic Emerit".

Chapter III. Statutes of the state awards

Part 1. Statute of the award "Ordinul Republicii" ("Republic Award")

Art. 8. - (1) the Award "Ordinul Republicii" is the highest state award which is awarded for outstanding merits in all spheres of activity for the benefit of the Homeland and mankind.

(2) the Sign of the award "Ordinul Republicii" represents the convex sixteen-final star formed by bunches relief of the repeating dispersing pyramidal beams consisting of the alternating eight central gold bunches on five beams and eight silver bunches imposed on them on three beams. Tops of the central beams of gold bunches are entered in the imagined circle with a diameter of 45 mm, and tops of silver - in the imagined circle with a diameter of 43 mm. The round medallion with a diameter of 25 mm with convex gold fillet and with the inserted in the center, in the white field, relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Moldova is imposed on star; eagle on the coat of arms and its attributes completely gold.

On the back sign the sequence number of award is engraved and the hidden ear welded on the sign back at the level of the upper end of beam through which by means of the Golden Ring with a diameter of 10 mm the sign fastens to medal chain is provided.

The sign is made of silver with gilding and enamel.

(3) the Medal chain consists of round relief links cartouches of three types supplied on each side two square with the ears which are slightly rounded off by corners for fixture of chains. Cartouches are connected among themselves by double silver chain of rectangular links to slightly rounded off corners.

The central single cartouche from nielloed silver represents the closed circular wreath from olive branches with fruits entered in the imagined circle with a diameter of 25 mm over which the crossed cross 21 mm high is azhurno imposed. The cartouche is in addition supplied from below with decorative ear for suspension of sign of award.
