About introduction of amendments to the Law on the prevention and suppression of violence in family No. 45/2007

The Parliament adopts this organic law.

Art. I. – In the Law on the prevention and suppression of violence in family No. 45/2007 (Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 2008, Art. No. 55-56, 178), with subsequent changes, to make the following changes:

1. To state the name of the law in the following edition:

"LAW on the prevention and suppression of violence against women and violence in family".

2. In Article 2:

state the concepts "psychological violence" and "violence against women" of the following edition:

"psychological violence – causing mental suffering and/or condition of intensity, imposing of will or control, intimidation, including with use of information technologies and/or telecommunication networks, shown in the form of abuse, insults, sneers, name calling, blackmail, demonstrative spoil of property; intrusion into privacy; jealousy; isolation by imprisonment, including in the family dwelling; isolation from friends, societies; prohibition of contacts with certain family members, including preventing to meetings with parents and children; deprivation of information access, access prohibition, preventing to access or access control to social networks; prohibition and/or creation of obstacles for professional self-realization or passing of the educational program / program of professional training; threat of murder or causing bodily harms; threat of distribution of information on intimate, private and/or family life without the consent of the victim; prosecution; deprivation of identification documents; intimidation by weapon or torture of pets; other actions of similar nature;";

"violence against women – acts/acts of violence on gender sign which causes / inflict or can/can inflict on women/women of injury or suffering of physical, sexual or psychological nature, including the threat of making of such acts, coercion or any imprisonment which are made/made in the public or private sphere;";
