About introduction of amendments to the Law "About Local Self-government in the City of Yerevan"

Article 1. In article 14 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia of December 26, 2008, ZR-5 "About local self-government in the city of Yerevan":

1) to state part 1 in the following edition:

"1. The member of council of elders cannot at the same time:

1) to work in administration of the head of the city hall or any administrative area, to hold executive position in the organizations subordinated to Yerevan;

2) to hold the state positions or positions of public service which are not caused by its status in state bodies and local government bodies;

3) to hold position of executive body of the state non-profit organization.".

2) to state part 2 in the following edition:

"2. In cases of occupation of the incompatible positions established by part of 1 this Article, the member of council shall refuse in week time membership in Council for the written application submitted to the mayor, otherwise its powers stop ahead of schedule according to the procedure, established by this Law.".

Article 2. Final part and transitional provision

1. This law becomes effective next day after its official publication.

2. Operation of this law does not extend to persons who to the introduction of this law in force combined the state position or position of public service with position of the member of local government board. These persons can continue joint operation about day of convocation of the first meeting of the given newly elected Council of Elders.
