For the purpose of providing with modern arms, the military and special equipment of the ministries and departments which are part of Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and law enforcement agencies by removal on qualitatively new level of the reforms performed in this direction based on the State committee on defense industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan the Agency on defense industry under the Ministry of Defence is created and the State unitary enterprise "O" ztextreyd" under the Ministry of investments, industry and trade.
According to the Presidential decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan of January 31, 2023 No. UP-16 "About Measures for Enhancement of Public Administration in the field of Equipment of Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Defense Industry":
1. Make changes to some acts of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, according to appendix, the legislations providing reduction in compliance of acts in connection with:
creation based on the State committee on defense industry of the Agency on defense industry under the Ministry of Defence and the State unitary enterprise "O" ztextreyd" under the Ministry of investments, the industry and trade;
determination of circle of powers of the Agency on defense industry under the Ministry of Defence and the State unitary enterprise "O" ztextreyd" under the Ministry of investments, the industry and trade.
