About introduction amendment and changes in the Law "About Police"
Accepted by National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on December 16, 2022
Article 1. No. ZR-177 "About police" (further – the Law) after the word "police" to add article 1 of the Law of April 16, 2001 with the words "acting in subordination of the relevant ministry (further-Authorized body)".
Article 2. Regarding the 2nd article 3.1 of the Law shall be replaced with words the word "Prime Minister" "The head of authorized body".
Article 3. In all text of the Law:
The word "Government" shall be replaced with words 1) "the head of Authorized body", except for speak rapidly 2 Articles 15, of Items 3 and 4 of part of 1 Article 19, Article 31, of 32, 34 and parts 1 and 2 of Article 40.1;
2) the word "Prime Minister" shall be replaced with words "the head of Authorized body", except for parts 2 of Article 3.1;
3) words of "the chief of Police" shall be replaced with words "the head of Authorized body".
Article 4. In heading and part 1 of article 6 of the Law of the word of "educational institutions of police" shall be replaced with words "educational institution of Authorized body".
Article 5. To state article 9 of the Law in the following edition:
"Article 9. System and management of Police
1. The police consists of structural divisions and structural territorial subdivisions.
2. The charter of Police is approved by the head of Authorized body, and the maximum quantity of personnel – the Prime Minister.
3. The chief of Police, with the consent of the head of Authorized body, is competent to create infrastructure divisions of Police within structure and quantity of personnel of Police.".
Article 6. To recognize Items 4-6 of part 1 of article 13 of the Law invalid.
