About modification and amendments in the Law "About the Child's Rights"
Accepted by National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on June 9, 2022
Article 1. Part 2 of article 1 of the Law of May 29, 1996 as No. ZR-59 "About the child's rights" (further – the Law) to recognize invalid.
Article 2. Add the law with Article 1.1 of the following content:
"Article 1.1. The basic concepts used in the Law
In this Law the following basic concepts are used:
1) the child – each person which did not reach 18 years, except as specified when it in the procedure established by the law acquires capacity to act or is recognized capable earlier;
2) programs of prevention of risks of separation of children with families – the programs performed by the state or on delegation by the state or the private organizations, directed to prevention of risk of distinguishing of the child with family or realization of its right to live in family;
3) alternative care for the child – the leaving organized in case of impossibility of accommodation of the child in biological family who can be by adoption of establishment of guardianship or custody, care, and in case of impossibility of they are the organizations of leaving in institutions of social protection of the population (orphanages).".
Article 3. To add article 12 of the Law with part 3 following of content:
"The government of the Republic of Armenia approves programs of the organization of reunion of the children who are in the institutions performing day-and-night care and protection of children with families and prevention of risks of separation of children with families.".
Article 4. To state article 24 of the Law in the following edition:
"Article 24. Protection of the rights of the children who appeared in difficult life situation (including left without parent leaving)
