About modification of article 5 of the Federal law "About Veterans"

Article 1

Bring in Item 1 of article 5 of the Federal Law of January 12, 1995 No. 5-FZ "About veterans" (in edition of the Federal Law of January 2, 2000 No. 40-FZ) (The Russian Federation Code, 1995, No. 3, Art. 168; 2000, No. 2, Art. 161; 2016, to No. 1, the Art. 8) change, having stated it in the following edition:

"1. Veterans of military service are the military personnel including transferred to the reserve (resignation):

1) passing (passing) military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, other troops, military forming and bodies in which the legislation of the Russian Federation provides military service, Armed Forces of the USSR, the Joint Armed Forces of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States created according to the Charter of the Commonwealth of Independent States, or constantly living in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol on the date of acceptance to the Russian Federation of the Republic of Crimea and education as a part of the Russian Federation of new subjects - the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol, passing military service in the parts and the organizations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other troops, military forming and bodies deployed in the territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol in which the legislation of Ukraine provided military service, the thanks of the President of the Russian Federation awarded with awards or medals of the USSR or the Russian Federation, either awarded with distinctions of the Russian Federation, or awarded honorary titles of the USSR or the Russian Federation, either awarded with certificates of honor of the President of the Russian Federation or awarded or awarded with departmental distinctions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, other troops, military forming and bodies in which the legislation of the Russian Federation provides military service, on condition of the general duration of military service of 20 years and more;

2) passing (passing) military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, other troops, military forming and bodies in which the legislation of the Russian Federation provides military service, Armed Forces of the USSR, the Joint Armed Forces of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States created according to the Charter of the Commonwealth of Independent States, become disabled people owing to wound, contusions, mutilations or diseases got in connection with fulfillment of duties of military service.".

Article 2

This Federal Law becomes effective from the date of its official publication.
