About introduction of amendments to the Law on physical culture and sport No. 330/1999

Art. I. - In the Law on physical culture and sport No. 330/1999 (Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 1999, Art. No. 83-86, 399), with subsequent changes, to make the following changes:

1. State Article 34 in the following edition:

"Article 34. Social protection of high-class athletes

(1) the Athletes who are citizens and residents of the Republic of Moldova, won for the Republic of Moldova one or several gold, silver or bronze medals in individual or command

sports at the Olympic Games or the Paralympic Games, or in the world or European championships for adults on the Olympic or Paralympic sports (including athletes are members of national teams of the former USSR), have the right based on the statement and in the presence of the consent of the central industry body to monthly lifelong allowance if they answer in total the following conditions:

a) reached age of 35 years;

b) at least 8 years were members of the national teams.

(2) the Lifelong benefit provided by part (1), equals to two average monthly salaries on economy, it is paid monthly in lei and it is not taxed.

(3) the statistical data provided to National bureaus about the average salary on economy in the month preceding month in which payment is performed form the Basis for establishment of the size of lifelong benefit.

(4) the Lifelong benefit provided by part (1), it is appointed since January 1 of the year following after year in which the athlete declared the withdrawal from sport. In case of return to sport allowance payment stops.

(5) the Means necessary for payment to high-class athletes of lifelong benefit are allocated from the government budget and are paid by National cash desk of social insurance. The procedure of payments and payments of lifelong benefit is established by the provision approved by the Government.

(6) the Lifelong benefit is paid depending on the level of sporting achievement in the amount of:

a) 100 percent - for the first gold medal at the Olympic Games or the Paralympic Games;
