About modification and amendments in the Law of the Republic of Armenia "About police"

Article 1. "About police" (further - the Law) to state parts 1-3 of article 5 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia of April 16, 2001 to ZR-177 in the following edition:
"Within the powers assigned to it by the law the police protects human rights and freedoms, and also legitimate interests, irrespective of its floor, race, skin color, ethnic or social origin, genetic signs, language, religion, outlook, political or different views, belonging to ethnic minority, property status, the birth, disability, age or other circumstances of personal or social nature.
Actions of police shall not break advantage of the person, the right to life, honor and good reputation, physical integrity, property, and also other rights and freedoms. Tortures, the inhuman or humiliating treatment of police in relation to the person are punished under the law.
Restrictions of human rights and freedoms by police are admissible only in the cases, procedure and limits provided by the law.".
Article 2. To add part 1 of article 20 of the Law with Item 6.2 of the following content:
"6. 2) for the purpose of detection (identification) of persons who committed the heavy and especially serious crime with traces of biological origin and also directed against sexual freedom and immunity to perform accounting of characteristics of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) in the found and identified samples of biological origin.
The characteristics of DNA found as a result of judicial and genetic examinations of the samples taken according to the procedure, established by the Code of criminal trial of the Republic of Armenia, at persons taken from the crime scene, unspecified on case, and at the person accused are subject to accounting.
