About introduction of amendments to the Law of the Republic of Armenia "About television and radio"

Article 1. "About television and radio" (of October 9, 2000, ZR-97, further - the Law) to state part 1 of article 37 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia in the following edition:

"The commission on television and radio (further – the National commission) – independent regulating authority which purpose is ensuring freedom, independence and variety of the broadcasting mass media, and also in the procedure established by the legislation, licensing and control over activities of TV companies and radio companies. The commission consists of 8 members.".

Article 2. The first offer of part 1 of article 39 of the Law to state in the following edition:

"The national commission - independent regulating authority which half of members are elected by National assembly and other half is appointed by the President of the Republic, for the term of six years, except for the first structure.".

Article 3. To state article 45 of the Law in the following edition:

"Article 45. Termination of powers of the member of the National commission

The member of the National commission cannot be recalled from the position before the expiration of powers. Powers of the member of the National commission can be stopped in the following cases when:

a) he resigned;

b) The chairman of the National commission or the vice-chairman of the National commission were chosen or appointed to other position;

c) without reasonable excuse did not participate in works of the National commission more than three months;

d) it was condemned according to the court order;

e) according to the court order it was recognized as incapacitated;

e) lost citizenship of the Republic of Armenia;

g) died.
