About bodies of homeland security of Turkmenistan

Article 1. Appointment of bodies of homeland security

Bodies of homeland security of Turkmenistan are special bodies in structure of public administration, are subordinated to the President of Turkmenistan, within the competence provided by the legislation perform protection of the personality, society and state against internal and external threats in general system of safety of Turkmenistan.

Bodies of homeland security conduct work on protection of the constitutional system against illegal encroachments, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Turkmenistan, its political, scientific and technical and defense potential, perform measures for the prevention, identification and suppression of prospecting subversive activities of foreign intelligence agencies and organizations.

Article 2. Main activities and tasks of bodies of homeland security

The main activities and tasks of bodies of homeland security are:

1. prospecting work for the purpose of ensuring national security of Turkmenistan;

2. counterprospecting work on protection of Turkmenistan against prospecting subversive activities of special services of foreign states and foreign organizations;

3. to protection of the constitutional system against illegal encroachments, fight against terrorism, genocide, international hostility discord, organized crime, corruption and the drug trafficking infringing on interests of homeland security;

4. the prevention, identification and control of offenses which investigation is referred by the law to maintaining bodies of homeland security;

5. ensuring protection of frontier;

6. protection of state interests;
