About modification in the Penitentiary code of Ukraine concerning humanization of procedure and conditions of execution of punishments

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

1. Bring in the Penitentiary code of Ukraine (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2004, Art. No. 3-4, 21) the following changes:

Part the second Article 25 to state 1) in the following edition:

"2. Public control over observance of the rights of convicts in case of execution of criminal penalties in corrective labor colonies, arestny houses, correction centers and pre-trial detention centers is performed by the supervisory committees which act on the basis of the of this Code and the Regulations on the supervisory committees approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and in educational colonies the boards of trustees. In the cases established by this Code and the laws of Ukraine, public associations can exercise public control over observance of the rights of the criminal penalties condemned in case of execution";

Part the fourth Article 94 to state 2) in the following edition:

"4. The site of the strengthened control contain convicts who systematically (two and more times) make malicious violations of established procedure of serving sentence, safety of personnel, convicts or other persons threaten. In corrective labor colonies for content of the condemned women the site of the strengthened control is not created";

Item 3 parts two of Article 101 to exclude 3);

4) in Article 107 part four:

in paragraph six shall be replaced with words the word "cause" "intentionally to cause";
