About introduction of amendments to article 90 of the Law of Ukraine "About election of the president of Ukraine"

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

1. Bring in article 90 of the Law of Ukraine "About election of the president of Ukraine" (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2004, No. 20-21, of Art. 291; 2009 No. 50, Art. 754) following changes:

in part four of the word "seventy days" shall be replaced with words "forty days", words of "batches (blocks)" shall be replaced with words "presidential candidates of Ukraine", and the words "eighty days" - the words "forty five days";

include parts the seventh and eighth the following content:

"7. Local executive bodies, local government bodies not later than eighty days till the election day allocate places and equip stands, bulletin boards in crowded places for placement of materials of election propaganda.

8. Quotations of cost of unit of the printing area and unit of broadcasting time for carrying out election propaganda are established by appropriate means of mass information not later than eighty days till the election day in the amount of which cannot exceed the size of arithmetic-mean price value for commercial (advertizing which distribution aims at profit earning) for the last quarter the year preceding year of elections. At the same time mass media can calculate such quotations of cost of unit of the printing area or broadcasting time separately for the working days and separately for days off and holidays, and also separately for the periods of broadcasting time or the printing area, different in the number of potential audience.

Mass media of all patterns of ownership not later than seventy eight days till the election day shall publish in mass media of quotation of cost of one minute (second) of broadcasting time and quotation of cost of unit of the printing area".

2. This Law becomes effective from the date of its publication.
