This Law governs the relations arising in the field of the social servicing which is one of the priority directions of social protection of elderly establishes for them social, economic and legal guarantees.
1.0. The basic concepts used in this Law express the following values:
1.0.1. elderly - the citizen of the Azerbaijan Republic who reached 70-year age, and also the foreigner and the person without citizenship who are constantly living in the Azerbaijan Republic;
1.0.2. social servicing of elderly - the activities aimed at providing requirements elderly in social servicing consisting of set of leaving, catering services, medical, public, psychological, legal and other care in organizations of social servicing irrespective of their type of property and form of business, and at home.
The legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic on social servicing of elderly consists of the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic, this Law, other regulatory legal acts and international treaties which the Azerbaijan Republic joined.
Social servicing elderly (further - social servicing) is performed on the basis of the principles of the state providing, legality, humanity, observance of rights and freedoms of man and citizen.
