About the Ukrainian national pantheon
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,
based on centuries-old history of the Ukrainian national and state construction, on succession of state-national traditions from times of Russia so far,
acknowledging responsibility of the state for recovery of historical justice, forming of national memory and consolidation of society around general history,
for the purpose of celebration of outstanding representatives of the Ukrainian nation, forming on their examples of the Ukrainian national and civil identity and creations of the Ukrainian national pantheon as national place of memory of the Ukrainian people,
adopts this Law.
1. This Law determines legal status of the Ukrainian national pantheon (further - the Pantheon), governs the relations connected with designing, creation and content of the Pantheon, feature of legal regime of the territory of the Pantheon and also establishes the bases and procedure for decision making about celebration of outstanding representatives of the Ukrainian nation by honourable reburial, establishment of kenotaf in the Pantheon and other forms of celebration of outstanding representatives of the Ukrainian nation.

The pantheon is the national place of memory of the Ukrainian people, the place of celebration of outstanding representatives of the Ukrainian nation who made exclusive, historically significant contribution to finding and recovery of independence, to forming and development of the Ukrainian state, protection of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, forming of the Ukrainian nation, army, culture, art, science, sport, formation of the Ukrainian literary language, development of civil society or religion.
2. The pantheon is located in the capital of Ukraine - the city of Kiev.
3. The pantheon is memorial complex.
4. The pantheon is object of the right of state-owned property and is not subject to privatization or transfer to lease.
