About measures of increase in effective management of dangerous wastes

For the purpose of consecutive realization of the priority tasks provided in the Concept of environmental protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan till 2030, increase in effective management of the radioactive and chemically dangerous wastes which are formed in the mining, metallurgical and chemical industry, oil and gas and electrical power industries and also on other production enterprises I decide:

I. Main objectives and priority directions

1. Determine main objectives and the priority directions of this resolution:

(a) bringing to 20 percent of level of conversion of the radioactive waste which is formed in the mining, metallurgical and chemical industry, oil and gas and electrical power industries on other production enterprises, and also chemically dangerous wastes carried to the I-IV class of danger according to the Classification catalog of waste (further - dangerous wastes);

(b) complete implementation in practice of mechanisms of safe placement and in the minimum amount of dangerous wastes without possibility of their conversion;

(c) decrease in negative impact on the environment of the dangerous wastes which are stored (placed) in special constructions and on the open areas;

(d) conducting classification state accounting on sources of formation of dangerous wastes, their amounts, structure and locations;

(e) reduction of amounts and dangerous properties of dangerous wastes (replacement of the dangerous substances used in production on safe, and also upgrade of technologies);

(g) ensuring the state control of transportation, storage and placement of dangerous wastes, prevention of their illicit trafficking;

(h) observance of requirements of ecology and safety when implementing the works connected with the formed dangerous wastes and also financing these works in accordance with the established procedure.
