About approval and enforcement of the Civil code of Turkmenistan

Article 1. Approve the Civil code of Turkmenistan.

Article 2. Enact the Civil code of Turkmenistan since January 1, 2026.

Article 3. Recognize invalid from the date of enforcement of this Law:

The law of Turkmenistan of July 17, 1998 "About approval and enforcement of the Civil code of Turkmenistan of Saparmurat Turkmenbasha" (Sheets of Majlis of Turkmenistan, 1998, No. 2, the Art. 39);

Article 4. Action of the Civil code of Turkmenistan extends to the relations which arose after enforcement of this Code.

On the civil legal relations which arose before enforcement of the Civil code of Turkmenistan, its provisions are applied to those rights and obligations which arose after January 1, 2026.

These regulatory legal acts are applied to the civil legal relations which arose based on the regulatory legal acts recognized voided in connection with enforcement of the Civil code of Turkmenistan, except cases when participants of the relations show willingness to regulate the relations according to provisions of the Civil code of Turkmenistan.

Until reduction of the Laws and other regulatory legal acts of Turkmenistan in compliance to this Code, they are applied so far as do not contradict this Code.
