About entering of amendments into the Law "About Banks and Banking Activity"
Accepted by National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on May 29, 2025
Article 1. The second article 2 of the Law of June 30, 1996 No. ZR-68 "About banks and banking activity" (further - the Law) after words of "investment companies" to add part with words of "persons rendering services with cryptoassets".
Article 2. To add the Item "p" of part 1 of article 21.6 of the Law after the words "and other securities" with the words "and also tokens of electronic money".
Article 3. To add part 1 of article 34 of the Law with Item 19 of the following content:
"19) to provide services with use of the cryptoassets provided by the Law of the Republic of Armenia "About cryptoassets".".
Article 4. To "investment companies" to add part 6 of article 36 of the law after words with words to "persons providing services with cryptoassets".
Article 5. To add part 2 of article 43 of the law with the Item "d" of the following content:
"e) in case of placement of tokens of electronic money issued by bank - information in the amount and procedure established by the Law of the Republic of Armenia "About cryptoassets" and the regulatory legal acts adopted on its basis.".
Article 6. To add article 61 of the law with part 4 following of content:
"4. For violation of requirements of the legal acts regulating the market of cryptoassets, the stipulated in Article 2 Laws of the Republic of Armenia "About cryptoassets", adopted on their basis of other regulatory legal acts, including internal legal acts on rendering services with cryptoassets, the Central bank applies responsibility measures according to the procedure, established by the Law of the Republic of Armenia "About cryptoassets".
Article 8. This law becomes effective for the tenth day after day of official publication.
