About introduction of amendments to the Law of Ukraine "About place names" concerning enhancement of the activities connected with establishment, regulation, accounting, registration, use and preserving place names

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

I. Bring in the Law of Ukraine "About place names" (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2005, No. 27, Art. 360; 2014, Art. No. 6-7, 80) following changes:

1. In Article 4:

The name and part one to state 1) in the following edition:

"Article 4. Public administration in the field of the activities connected with establishment of names of geographical objects

Public administration in the field of the activities connected with establishment of names of geographical objects, and also regulation, accounting, registration, use and preserving place names is performed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the central executive body providing forming of state policy in the field of land and cartographic activities and the central executive body realizing state policy in the field of land and cartographic activities (further - specially authorized body of the executive authority concerning place names)";

To add 2) after part one with new part of the following content:

"Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine:

provides carrying out state policy in the respective sphere;

approves procedure for conducting examination of offers and decisions of public authorities and local government bodies concerning the name and renaming of geographical objects;

approves Regulations on the State register of place names;

performs the name and renaming of geographical objects according to the law".
