About entering of amendment into the Criminal code of the Republic of Armenia

Article 1. To add the criminal code of the Republic of Armenia of April 18, 2003 with Article 137.1 of the following content:
"Article 137.1. Heavy insult
1. Drawing to person of heavy insult: abuse or insult in other extremely obscene way:
it is punished by penalty in the amount of hundredfold to the five hundredfold size of the established minimum wage.
2. The act provided by part of 1 this Article or distribution of the materials about person containing heavy insult, which:
1) it is made with use of information or communication technologies or other public method,
2) it is made in connection with public activities of person:
it is punished by penalty in the amount of five hundredfold to the thousandfold size of the established minimum wage.
3. The act provided by part 1 or 2 of this Article which was periodically made concerning one person:
it is punished by penalty in the amount of thousandfold to the three-thousandfold size of the established minimum wage or arrest from one to three months.
In this Article the behavior connected with journalistic, publicistic activities, execution of service duties, holding the post of public service or public position, public or political work is considered public activities.".
Article 2. This Law becomes effective for the tenth day after its official publication.
