About introduction of amendments and changes in the Law of the Republic of Armenia "About geographical names"

Article 1. ZR-21 "About geographical names" (further - the Law) to add article 2 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia of November 23, 1999 with the Items "e" and "zh" of the following content:

e) the name of geographical object - the name accepted by legal acts the bodies established by this Law, and this to the geographical object which received state registration in accordance with the established procedure;

g) renaming of geographical object - change of the name of the geographical object called and which received state registration in accordance with the established procedure."

Article 2. "Authorized body" to add item 4 of article 6 of the Law after words with the words "within a month".

Article 3. In article 9 of the Law:

1. in Item 1 the word "names" shall be replaced with words "names and renamings";

2. add with Item 1.1 of the following content:

"1.1. State registration of names and renamings of geographical objects of the Republic of Armenia is performed based on the legal acts adopted by the bodies authorized by the law:

a) in case of the name and (or) renaming of area, municipality, the settlement - National assembly of the Republic of Armenia;

b) in case of the name and (or) renaming of physiographic and technical objects - the Government of the Republic of Armenia;

c) in case of the name and (or) renaming of geographical objects in settlements - heads of municipalities based on the decision of the Councils of Elders, and in the city of Yerevan - the mayor of Yerevan based on the decision of Council of Yerevan (in case of forming of the Council of Elders - the Council of Elders), and addressing and numbering - heads of the relevant municipalities (in Yerevan - the mayor of Yerevan).".

Article 4. This Law becomes effective for the tenth day after its official publication.
