assistance of economy of all types of resources, improvement of technical and economic indicators of production;
implementation of social and economic, scientific and technical programs and projects;
safety of economic objects taking into account risk of emergence of natural and technogenic catastrophes and other emergency situations;
providing consumers with complete and reliable information about the nomenclature and quality of products;
ensuring defense capability and mobilization readiness;
ensuring unity of measurements.

The organization, coordination and ensuring works on standardization are performed:

In the state system of single and life-long education the state educational standards approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan are developed.

Standards on products sold to consumers and the made changes to them are subject to state registration in bodies of the Uzstandart agency without payment. Regulating documents on the standardization registered in bodies of the Uzstandart agency are included into the state fund of regulating documents in the field of technical regulation.
The requirements established by standards for safety of products, the environment, life, health and property of the population, technical and information compatibility, interchangeability of products, unity of methods of their control and unity of marking are obligatory for observance by state bodies, business entities.
In standards other stipulated by the legislation requirements included in the development agreement, production and delivery of products can be established.
