The government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan which are referred to as further the Party

being guided by the Agreement on bases of the relations between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan of January 13, 1993, aiming at development of bilateral cooperation in the field of education,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties will perform cooperation by means of exchange of information about system and structure of the higher, primary and secondary professional education, reforms and new educational technologies, educational and methodical materials.

Article 2

The parties will perform cooperation in the form of equivalent exchange:

- students on full course of training;

- the faculty for lecturing.

The exchange quota, the list of specialties, subjects of lectures, terms and other conditions are determined in the joint annual Protocol.

Article 3

The parties will develop direct partner connections between organizations of primary, secondary professional and higher education according to the national legal system.

Article 4

For the purpose of discussion of condition of implementation of this agreement, expansion and enhancement of further cooperation of the Party, if necessary, will exchange working delegations as a part of two people for a period of 3 (three) days.

Article 5

Mutual exchange of pupils, students, trainees, scientific and pedagogical workers, members of working delegation will be performed according to direct contracts between the interested organizations of the states of the Parties in which the rights, obligations and responsibility of guides and the accepting organizations will be determined.

Article 6

The matters of argument connected using or interpretation of this agreement, are permitted by consultations and negotiations of the Parties.

Article 7

According to the mutual arrangement of the Parties changes and additions which are drawn up by separate Protocols can be made to this agreement and are integral part of this agreement.

Article 8

This agreement becomes effective from the date of receipt of the last written notice of accomplishment of the interstate procedures by the Parties necessary for its entry into force.

This agreement is signed for a period of five years and automatically prolonged for the subsequent five-year periods if any of the Parties in six months prior to the expiration of the next five-year term does not send to other Party the written notice of the intention to stop its action.

It is made in the city of Dushanbe on June "13", 2000 in two authentic copies, everyone in the Kazakh, Tajik and Russian languages, and all texts are equally authoritative. In case of disagreements in interpretation of provisions of this agreement, the Parties will be guided by the text in Russian.
