1. General provisions

1.1. Public institution "Center of Islamic studies in case of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan" (further - the Center) is the public research, information, analytical, expert and advisory institution submitting directly to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

1.2. Founder of the Center is the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

1.3. The form of legal education of the Center is determined on basis provision of Article 132 of the Civil code of the Republic of Tajikistan as the state company.

1.4. The center is legal entity, has seal with the image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Tajikistan and stamp with the name in state language, separate balance, special personal account. The center is financed from the government budget and other financial sources which are not forbidden by the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan in coordination with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan.

- the scientific-theoretical analysis of religious and national practices and traditions in settlement of life of society;

- objective assessment of historical and practical role of religious clergy in public life;

- providing the scientific atmosphere of development of tendency of dialogue of religions and civilizations in the Tajik society.

2.2. Main objectives of the Center:

- scientific research of regularities of development of socially religious life of the country;

- the analysis of essence and features of religious factor in implementation of state policy in the field of religion;

- studying of Islamic sources and written heritage as component to national culture;

- implementation of scientific research concerning the place and role of Islam in the Tajik society and the modern world;

- collection of scientific material on Islam and activities of the religious organizations in the Republic of Tajikistan and carrying out its information analysis;

- research of the religious directions, entities and features of religiouspolitical currents, phenomena of religious terrorism and extremism in modern Muslim society, strategic analysis of influence of Islamic factor on the international relations;

- studying of historical features of development of the Islamic right and its place in national and world systems of law;

3. Rights and obligations of the Center

3.1. Due to the implementation of the Center functions has the right:

- request and obtain necessary information from the central and local authorities of the government in case of development within the competence of drafts of concepts, programs and plans for question of implementation of national policy for Islam for the purpose of their representation to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan;

- take part in discussion of drafts of the laws and other regulatory legal acts developed by other state bodies and public organizations, and the questions of liberty of conscience and activities of the religious organizations in one way or another mentioning and to provide the conclusions on them;
