In pursuance of article 7 of the Agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union of May 29, 2014 and according to Procedure Item 5 the Eurasian Economic Union of the international cooperation approved by the Decision of the Supreme Eurasian economic council of December 23, 2014 № 99, the Supreme Eurasian economic council decided:

The main directions of the international activities of the Eurasian Economic Union for 2015 - 2016

I. Basic provisions about the international activities of the Eurasian Economic Union

This document is developed according to Procedure Item 5 the Eurasian Economic Union of the international cooperation approved by the Decision of the Supreme Eurasian economic council of December 23, 2014 №99.

The main directions of the international activities of the Eurasian Economic Union (further respectively - the main directions, the Union) are created within implementation of article 7 of the Agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union of May 29, 2014 (further - the Agreement) taking into account the purposes of the Union specified in article 4 of the Agreement and directed to positioning of the Union as reliable, predictable partner on the international scene.

The international activities include international cooperation of the Union (further - international cooperation) with the third states, the international organizations and the international integration associations, and also the conclusion by the Union with them international treaties on the questions carried to its competence independently or together with state members of the Union (further - state members).

International cooperation includes contacts of official representatives and officials of bodies of the Union, representatives of state members with official representatives of the third states, international organizations and the international integration associations, participation in actions of the international nature, including the presentations, conferences, seminars.

The international activities of the Union (further - the international activities) are performed within powers and in the spheres defined by the Agreement and international treaties within the Union.

The international activities for cooperation and the conclusion of contracts with the third states, the international organizations, including the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the international integration associations are performed in case of the greatest possible accounting of the rights and legitimate interests of state members, on the basis of the principles of solidarity, mutual openness, responsibility and priority of interests of state members.

II. The directions of the international activities for 2015 - 2016

When implementing of the international activities by the Union in 2015 - 2016 the following directions are priority:

interaction with the international partners (the international organizations, the governments of the third states, regional integration associations, business - community) for the purpose of identification of possible forms and specific directions of cooperation, forming of positive idea of the Union, and also finishing information on the Union, including explanation of the purposes and tasks of the Eurasian integration process, contents of the acts adopted by the Union, holding the presentations at various international venues (conferences, forums, seminars);

interaction with the governments of the third states, regional integration associations, the international organizations which show interest to cooperation with the Union, holding information actions, negotiations of official representatives of bodies of the Union with representatives of the third states, regional integration associations, the international organizations, preparation and signing of the memoranda of understanding providing expansion of international cooperation of the Union, and also work within the memorandums of cooperation or mutual understanding signed earlier.

The international activities will be performed in interaction with executive bodies of the third states (Customs, competitive, public health, veterinary, quarantine and other Services) concerning implementation of the best practices and rapprochement the practician in the field of administration;

interaction with trade and economic partners of the Union for the purpose of assistance to sustainable development of state members, to diversification of economies, innovative development, increase in amounts and improvement of structure of trade and investments, promotion of integration processes, and also further development of the Union as effective and competitive organization internationally. Important task at the same time is use of tools dialogue, administrative and other forms of cooperation with the international partners for realization of the rights and interests of the Union, achievement of favorable effect of participation in the international labor division.

The international activities are also directed to realization of initiatives (in the field of foreign economic activity) the state member presiding in the Union.
