Chamber of producers and entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Azerbaijan Republic, hereinafter referred to as "Parties", wishing to give new impulse bilateral economic and to sci-tech cooperation,
agreed as follows:
The parties will promote development of direct contacts between the Uzbek and Azerbaijani companies, associations, the organizations, firms, entrepreneurs and their associations.
The parties will undertake various measures for further development of bilateral cooperation and attraction to it of wide range of participants, including small and medium firms, the companies.
The parties, within the competence, will provide broad and free exchange:
- economic and legal information for business activity, including about condition and perspectives of development of national economies;
- about export-import activities of the companies, associations, the organizations and firms of both countries;
- the corresponding regulations regulating foreign economic activity;
- other information materials.
The parties agreed to encourage experience exchange for the purpose of identification of specific areas and forms of cooperation. The parties agreed to organize seminars, meetings of entrepreneurs, symposiums, technical conferences and other actions, to perform exchange of delegations of business community and specialists of the Uzbek and Azerbaijani companies.
The parties will encourage and create necessary conditions for active participation of the companies, associations of both countries in the international, foreign and specialized exhibitions, salons, fairs and other promotional and informational events held in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
The parties will pay special attention to mutual cooperation in rendering assistance to the Uzbek and Azerbaijani companies, associations, the organizations, firms, entrepreneurs and their associations in the field of arbitration, patenting of inventions and protection of industrial property, registration of trademarks, quality control and completeness, and also check of quantity of export, import and other goods.
The parties will set up cooperation and exchange of information on the questions connected with non-admission and suppression of unfair competition and non-business partnership in trade between the Uzbek and Azerbaijani business entities.
The parties will especially encourage development and enhancement of new forms of economic cooperation, such as joint venture, industrial cooperation, marketing, leasing, training in management, etc.
For accomplishment of the purposes and tasks of this Agreement, the Chamber of producers and entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Azerbaijan Republic form the Uzbek-Azerbaijani Advisory board for the purpose of expansion of bilateral cooperation.
Meetings of members of council will be held on regular basis.
The agreement becomes effective in day of its signing. The agreement is signed sine die and can be denounced by each of the Parties. In this case the Agreement will stop the action in three months after the written notice of denouncement.
It is made in the city of Tashkent on June 18, 1997 in duplicate, everyone in the Uzbek, Azerbaijani and Russian languages, and all texts are equally authoritative.
