The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Justice of the Azerbaijan Republic, further referred to as with "Parties", recognizing importance of cooperation between the Parties, considering positive experience of scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between two countries, and also the integration processes happening between two states for the purpose of further strengthening of mutual understanding and friendly cooperation between lawyers of both states,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties will perform cooperation in the following directions:

1) organization of bilateral symposiums, conferences and seminars for different problems of jurisprudence and practice;

2) exchange of information in the field of the legislation and legal structures;

3) exchanges of delegations for more complete acquaintance with the organization and activities of bodies and organizations of justice of the Parties;

4) assistance in case of preparation of legal personnel, mutual exchange of specialists;

5) establishment of partner bonds between bodies and organizations of justice of the Parties;

6) creation on a parity basis groups of specialists for legal examination of bills.

Article 2

Within this agreement of the Party can establish the commissions on development of joint programs.

Article 3

For the purpose of accomplishment of this agreement of the Party cooperation the next year, proceeding from the corresponding financial opportunities will annually approve the specific projects.

When financing joint actions for cooperation of the Party will adhere to the principle according to which expenses on the organization and stay, and also possible medical expenses are incurred by the host party, and expenses on journey by transport there and the obratnonapravlyayushchy Party.

Article 4

This agreement can be changed and added by mutual consent of the Parties.

Disputes and disagreements between the Parties on the questions relating to this agreement coverage will be solved by bilateral negotiations and consultations.

Article 5

This agreement becomes effective in day of its signing and is effective before the expiration of six months from the date of when one of the Parties notifies other Party on the intention to stop its action.

It is made in the city of Tashkent on June 18, 1997, in duplicate, everyone in the Uzbek, Azerbaijani and Russian languages, and all texts are equally authoritative. For the purposes of interpretation of provisions of this agreement the text in Russian is used.
