I. Appointment and scope

1. These rules establish requirements to ensuring physical protection of radioactive materials, radiation sources and Items of storage at design stages, constructions, operation, conclusion from operation of radiation sources and Items of storage and in case of the treatment of radioactive materials and radioactive waste, except for:

1) Items of storage of nuclear materials;

2) the radioactive materials (including as a part of complexes, installations, devices, the equipment and products) used in the defense purposes;

3) radioactive materials, radiation sources, radioactive waste in case of their transportation;

4) complexes, installations, devices, the equipment and products in which ionizing radiation is generated;

5) the territories contaminated by radionuclides;

6) radio pharmaceutical medicines and sets of reagents for immunological researches;

7) products, goods containing radionuclides on which there is sanitary and epidemiologic conclusion of bodies of Gossanepidnadzor that the doses of radiation created by them cannot exceed the values given in Item 1.4 of health regulations and standard rates the SanPiN 2.6.1.2523 - 09 "Regulations of radiation safety (NRB-99/2009)" approved by the resolution of the Chief state health officer of the Russian Federation of July 7, 2009 No. 47 (it is registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on August 14, 2009, registration No. 14534; The Russian newspaper, 2009, No. 171/1), (further - NRB-99/2009);
