Article 1.

State language of the Republic of Uzbekistan is Uzbek.

Article 2.

Giving to Uzbek of the status state does not violate constitutional rights of the nations and nationalities living in the territory of the republic in the use of the native language.

Article 3.

 Legal basis of functioning of Uzbek as state in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan is determined by this Law and other legal acts.

The questions connected with functioning of language in the Republic of Karakalpakstan are determined by the legislation of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

This Law does not regulate the use of languages in life, in interpersonal communication and in case of departure of religious and cult practices.

Article 4.

 In the Republic of Uzbekistan conditions are provided to all citizens for studying of state language and respect for languages of the nations and nationalities living in its territory conditions for development of these languages are created.

In the Republic of Uzbekistan creation of the preschool educational organizations functioning in state language, and in places of compact accommodation of national groups - and in their languages is provided.

Persons living in the Republic of Uzbekistan are granted the right of the free choice of language of training.

The Republic of Uzbekistan provides general, professional, secondary vocational and higher education in state language, and also in other languages.

 In spheres of official functioning of state language the existing scientific rules and the rules of the Uzbek literary language are respected.

New scientifically based terms are entered into Uzbek after public discussion and with the consent of the relevant committees of chambers of Oliy Majlis.

 Acts of civil status, identity documents and its rights, are drawn up in state language, and if necessary can be duplicated in other language.

 Texts of seals, stamps, forms of organizations, organizations and public associations are performed in state language.
