About veterinary science
The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of veterinary science.
The legislation on veterinary science consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about veterinary science then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
biological waste - the corpses of animals, products and raw materials of animal origin recognized dangerous in the veterinary and sanitary relation, waste of the veterinary biological industry;
veterinary science - the field of scientific and practical activities aimed at providing protection of life and health of animals, preventions of origin, distribution and liquidation of diseases of animals, protection of the population against diseases, general for animals and the person, protection of the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan against drift of infectious diseases of animals, implementation of veterinary attendance of animals and also on ensuring veterinary wellbeing of the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, veterinary, veterinary and sanitary safety of goods under control to the public veterinary service;
veterinary, veterinary health regulations and regulations - the documents establishing the requirements in the field of veterinary science which are the state and other bodies, legal entities and physical persons, obligatory for observance;
veterinary medicines - the means received from medicinal substances (substances) or from mix of medicinal substances (substances) of natural and synthetic origin, intended for prevention, diagnostics and treatment of diseases of animals and also for change of condition and functions of their organism;
veterinary wellbeing - condition in case of which there are no harmful effects of negative factors on health of animals, epizooty and also favorable conditions for life activity of animals are provided;
goods under control to the public veterinary service - animals, products and raw materials of animal origin, veterinary medicines, strains of microorganisms, forage and feed additives, veterinary technical means, and also the vegetable foodstuff realized in the markets;
products of animal origin - meat and meat products, milk and dairy products, fish and fish products, eggs and egg products, and also beekeeping products;
raw materials of animal origin - the products received from animals, intended to conversion;
unsuccessful Item - the territory in which the center of infectious diseases of animals is established;
stern - the products of plant and animal origin used for feeding of animals;
feed additives - the substances of organic, mineral and synthetic origin used as sources of missing nutritive and mineral substances and vitamins B diet of animals;
restrictive actions (quarantine) - the administrative, antiepizootic and other measures directed to the localization and liquidation of the centers of infectious diseases of animals, prevention of their distribution providing specific mode of economic and other activity, restriction of movement of the population, vehicles, loads and (or) goods;
epizooty - spread of especially dangerous and other infectious diseases of animals in the corresponding territory;
antiepizootic actions - system of organizational and special veterinary events for the prevention, identification or liquidation of epizooty;
infectious diseases of animals - diseases which emergence is caused by impact of causative agents of diseases on animals in the presence of possibility of distribution and transfer to other animals and the person.
