The Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Economy and European Integration of Ukraine which further are referred to as with the Parties

based on regulations of the Contract between the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine on economic cooperation for 1999-2008 of December 11, 1998,

attaching importance to strengthening and development of mutual business contacts between the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Economy and European Integration of Ukraine,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

Economic cooperation of the Parties will be performed on the basis of mutual advantage and good will according to international agreements and national legal systems of both states.

Article 2

The parties consider the most important direction of joint operation discussion of questions of bilateral economic cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine.

For this purpose the Parties will perform preparation of offers on the specific directions of cooperation, both on industries, and by types of the productions which are of mutual interest.

Article 3

The parties will perform exchange of information on the questions entering their competence in the following directions:

macroeconomic policy;

foreign trade policy;

social policy;

investment policy;

industry and agricultural industry;

fuel and energy complex;

development of business activity.

Article 4

The parties will hold consultations concerning condition and perspectives of the bilateral economic relations with the purpose of development of recommendations about enhancement of conditions and forms of economic cooperation.

Article 5

The parties will render assistance to subjects of managing of the states in preparation and implementation of joint investment projects and programs, creation and functioning of financial and industrial groups, joint businesses.

Article 6

The parties will exchange work experience in fields of activity and hold according to the mutual arrangement seminars and conferences, meetings of heads of the Parties for increase in efficiency of cooperation and accomplishment of this agreement.

Article 7

This agreement can be changed or added by mutual consent of the Parties.

Changes and amendments are drawn up in the form of the separate protocol to this agreement and become effective from signature date of the protocol plenipotentiaries of both Parties.

This agreement becomes effective from the date of its signing and will be effective until one of the Parties, at least in 3 months, in writing notifies other Party on the intention to stop its action.

It is made in Mazyr on August 1, 2002 in two authentic copies, everyone in the Russian and Ukrainian languages, and both texts are authentic. In case of discrepancies in interpretation of provisions of this agreement the text in Russian has advantage.
