The memorandum between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic Georgia of cooperation in the field of tourism

The government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic Georgia which further are referred to as the Party

in view of important role of tourism in economic, social and cultural progress,

for the purpose of creating favorable conditions for tourism development and mutual acquaintance with life of both states,

proceeding from interests of cooperation increase in the field of tourism, decided to conclude this Memorandum as follows:

- The parties will promote cooperation increase in the field of tourism for the purpose of acquaintance of citizens of both states with achievements in the field of economy, social development, culture, with the nature and sights, and also with historical monuments and cultural traditions of the people of both countries.

- The parties will cooperate in area of development of foreign tourism on the basis of equality and mutual advantage and will promote simplification of administrative formalities for the purpose of strengthening of tourist movement, creation to tourists of favorable conditions for entrance and movement in the territory of both states.

- The parties will promote experience exchange in all fields of foreign and internal tourism, to help cooperation between governmental bodies on tourism of both states, and also between other organizations and organizations dealing with issues of tourism and its development.

- The parties will also promote distribution of tourist information for attraction of flow of tourists as to one, and other country by the publication of promotional materials, exchange of information, printing editions, exhibitions, movies.

- The parties will give mutual aid in personnel training of tourist complexes and to promote exchange of specialists of relevant organs in tourism, to promote the interested departments and the organizations in creation and implementation of investment projects in the field of tourism.

- The parties consider expedient holding annual meetings of heads of tourist departments for determination of condition of tourist bonds and development of cooperation in this area.

- The parties for the purpose of more effective cooperation in the field of tourism will help the organization of flights between two countries, to creation of tourist representations respectively in both countries and to give all help in their activities.

This Memorandum is concluded for a period of five years and becomes effective from the moment of signing.

The validity of the Memorandum is automatically extended for the subsequent five-year periods if any of the Parties does not declare by the written notice of the desire to stop its action not later than six months before expiration of this Memorandum or the next five-year period.

It is made in the city of Tashkent on September 4, 1995 in duplicate, everyone in the Uzbek, Georgian and Russian languages, at the same time all texts are equally authoritative. For the purposes of interpretation of this Memorandum the text in Russian is used.
