The government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of Turkmenistan which are hereinafter referred to as by the Parties
considering the traditional relations between the people of both states,
in view of interest of the Parties in mutually beneficial and equal cooperation in the field of health care,
agreed as follows:
The parties will promote development and cooperation increase in the field of health care and the medical industry.
The parties will develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the following areas:
rendering primary and specialized medical care;
health protection of mother and child;
preventive medicine and environmental protection;
pharmacy and medical equipment;
prevention and liquidation of medical and sanitary effects of emergency situations;
exchange of operational information;
carrying out epidemiological surveillance in the territory of the Parties behind emergence of especially dangerous infections.
The parties will perform delivery of health care in case of sharp conditions - free of charge, and for planned patients - on commercial basis.
Each of the Parties will give mutual aid in enhancement of health care system, the organization of direct connections between medical bodies and organizations, and also exchange of specialists, holding of conferences, symposiums and seminars.
The parties will promote creation of joint businesses on production of medicines, the medical machinery and equipment.
In case of emergency situations of the Party will give emergency medical and advisory help on a grant basis.
Specific forms and conditions of cooperation in the field of health care will be regulated by free standing agreements between relevant organs of public administration of the Parties.
The parties, if necessary, can create the joint commission for implementation of this agreement and preparation of recommendations about interaction.
This agreement becomes effective from the date of its signing, will be effective within five years and is automatically prolonged for the subsequent five-year periods if any of the Parties does not notify in writing other Party, at least in six months prior to the expiration of the corresponding term about the intention to stop its action.
It is made in the city of Chardzhev on January "16", 1996 in duplicate, everyone in the Uzbek, Turkmen and Russian languages, and all texts are equally authoritative.
For the purposes of interpretation of provisions of this agreement the text in Russian is used.
