Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on transportation of mercury and mercury-containing connections

of December 25, 1996

The government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the hereinafter referred to as Contracting Parties,

considering the developed integration commercial ties of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic,

recognizing that movement of mercury and mercury-containing connections requires mutually agreed measures,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

For the purposes of this agreement and for its action are understood as goods the state standard specification 4658-73, mercury relating to loads of the 8th class of danger according to state standard specification 19433-88 and mercury-containing connections (slimes).

Article 2

Each Contracting Party will not introduce restriction and prohibition on acceptance to transportation and transit of goods across the territory of the Contracting Party.

Article 3

The contracting party which is the sender or the receiver of goods sent or arriving through the territory of other Contracting Party guarantees to this Party safety of life and human health, the environment.

Article 4

Contracting parties without delay will report each other about changes to the existing state standard specifications and TU on the basis of which transportation of goods is made.

Article 5

Procedure for providing conditions of acceptance and transportation of goods are determined by terms of the contract on transportation between authorized contractors.

Article 6

Each Contracting Party according to the legislation and the international obligations will provide equal legal protection of the rights and legitimate interests of business entities of the state of other Contracting Party.

Article 7

In case of need changes or additions in writing as agreed by the parties can be made to this agreement.

Article 8

This agreement becomes effective from the date of its signing.

This agreement is signed for a period of 5 years. Its action will be prolonged automatically every time the next year if in six months prior to the expiration of the corresponding period any of the Parties in writing does not notify other Party on the desire to stop its action.

It is made in the city of Tashkent on December "25", 1996 in two authentic copies, everyone in the Uzbek, Kyrgyz and Russian languages, and all texts are equally authoritative.

For the purposes of interpretation of provisions of this agreement the text in Russian is applied.
