The parliament adopts this ordinary law.

Art. 1. – Approve:

a) the national symbols corresponding to the protected geographical instructions, the protected names of places of origin and guaranteed to traditional products according to appendix 1;

b) Regulations on use of the national symbols corresponding to the protected geographical instructions, the protected names of places of origin and guaranteed to traditional products according to appendix 2.

Art. 2. – The competent authorities responsible for control of compliance of the goods having names of places of origin or geographical instructions, and compliance of the guaranteed traditional products appointed by the Government according to articles 33 and 34 of the Law on protection of geographical instructions, names of places of origin and the guaranteed traditional products No. 66-XVI of March 27, 2008, monitorirut use of the national symbols corresponding to the protected geographical instructions, the protected names of places of origin and guaranteed to traditional products.

The national symbols corresponding to the protected geographical instructions, the protected names of places of origin and guaranteed to traditional products

1) the Protected geographical specifying (IGP). Description and graphical representations

The national emblem of certification of products of "Indicatie geografica protejata" (the national symbol corresponding to the protected geographical instructions) represents horizontally oval, with the contour which is jagged by sawtooth rectangular teeth, the board bearing in the blue field, from the right heraldic side the eight-beam silver (white) star encumbered with the blue head of tour, and from the left heraldic side – abbreviation the header silver (white) letters IGP. The board can be surrounded with the circular legend executed by capital letters of color of the field of board: "INDICATIE GEOGRAFICA PROTEJATA * REPUBLICA MOLDOVA *" ("The protected geographical specifying * the Republic of Moldova *").

The national emblem of certification of products of "Denumire de origine protejata" (the national symbol corresponding to the protected names of places of origin) represents horizontally oval, with the contour which is jagged by the concave arches remote from each other, the board bearing, in the red field, from the right heraldic side the decreasing half moon which is slightly inclined in the left heraldic side and accompanying the tour head between horns, and from the left heraldic side – abbreviation capital letters of DOP, all silver (white). The board can be surrounded with the circular legend executed by capital letters of color of the field of board: "DENUMIRE DE ORIGINE PROTEJATA * REPUBLICA MOLDOVA *" ("The protected name of the place of origin * the Republic of Moldova *").

3) the Guaranteed traditional product (STG). Description and graphical representations

The national emblem of certification of products of "Specialitate traditionala garantata" (national symbol of compliance of the guaranteed traditional products) represents horizontally oval, with the contour which is jagged by the convex arches remote from each other, the board bearing in the gold (yellow) field, from the right heraldic side the silver (white) heraldic rose encumbered with the gold (yellow) head of tour, and from the left heraldic side – abbreviation the header silver (white) letters STG. The board can be surrounded with the circular legend executed by capital letters of color of the field of board: "SPECIALITATE TRADITIONALA GARANTATA * REPUBLICA MOLDOVA *" ("The guaranteed traditional product * the Republic of Moldova *").

Appendix 2

Regulations on use of the national symbols corresponding to the protected geographical instructions, the protected names of places of origin and guaranteed to traditional products

1. This Provision establishes conditions and procedure for use of the national symbols corresponding to the protected geographical instructions, the protected names of places of origin and guaranteed to traditional products (further – national symbols) which are established for the purpose of marking of the goods sold under the certain name protected according to the Law on protection of geographical instructions, names of places of origin and the guaranteed traditional products No. 66-XVI of March 27, 2008.

2. National symbols can be used only by the physical persons or legal entities having right to use of the protected geographical specifying or the protected name of the place of origin, or the physical persons or legal entities complying specifications for the guaranteed traditional product.

3. Persons specified in Item 2, apply national symbols on goods, labels and/or packaging of goods, and also use in advertizing or in the documents accompanying goods provided that these goods underwent testing and conform to requirements of specifications.

4. National symbols are carried out with observance of the engineering procedure providing the accurate image of sign, its firmness during all term of use of the goods designated thus.

5. National symbols are carried out with use of the approved flowers – according to blue, red or yellow, – contrasting with background, or in black-and-white option. If background color of packaging or the label dark, then can be reproduced negative of the image of symbol with use of background color of packaging or the label. If the symbol is used in color on color background, complicating its visual perception, it should be placed in circle for improvement of contrast with background flowers.

6. National symbols are used on a grant basis.

7. Use of the signs similar to national symbols which can cause mixture with national symbols, or abuse of national symbols is forbidden.
