The government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic Georgia which further are referred to as with the Parties
wishing to keep and strengthen traditional friendly and business interrelations,
wishing to develop the cooperation in customs affairs which is equitable to economic interests of both states, constructed on the basis of rules of international law, mutual respect and mutual understanding
aiming to stimulate development of economy and protection of the domestic market,
agreed as follows:
The cooperation in the field of customs affairs between the Parties is under construction proceeding from the principles of the Agreement between the Parties on free trade.
For realization of the purposes of this agreement of the Party create favorable conditions for encouragement of direct connections between the companies of all patterns of ownership, firms, ensuring free entrance and movement of citizens of one Party in the territory of another.
The parties recognize customs providing each other.
This agreement does not affect the right of any Party to acceptance according to international law, and also its domestic legislation of the measures necessary for protection of state security, economic interests, public order, health or morality of the population, cultural and historical heritage of the people, protection of rare animals and plants.
The parties not adopt the regulations contradicting this agreement, international law and infringing the rights of both states.
The parties are single that the cooperation in customs affairs will develop without violation of their obligations and will not interfere with development of the customs relations with the third countries.
The procedure for settlement of the matters of argument able to arise in connection with interpretation and application of this agreement, is determined by the free standing agreement signed between the Parties.
The parties agreed upon all complex of the bilateral customs relations to sign free standing agreements.
This agreement becomes effective concerning each of the Parties from the moment of its signing.
This agreement is signed for five years, considering from the date of the introduction it in force and every time will be prolonged automatically for the next five-year periods if any of the Parties does not declare in writing the desire to stop its action in six months prior to the expiration of such five-year period.
It is made in the city of Tashkent on September 4, 1995 in duplicate, everyone in the Uzbek, Georgian and Russian languages, and all texts are equally authoritative.
For the purposes of interpretation of this agreement the text in Russian is used.
