This Law governs the relations connected with rewarding with the state awards of the Republic of Belarus, determines legal status of the state awards of the Republic of Belarus, the right and obligation of winners.
The state awards of the Republic of Belarus represent the highest form of encouragement, recognition of contribution to protection and strengthening of the state and democratic society, unity of the people, enhancement of economic, intellectual and spiritual potential of the country, and also merits and achievements in public, humanitarian, charitable and other types of activity before the state and the people.
