1. Approve the enclosed Rules providing availability on the food imported into the Kyrgyz Republic, information in the state or official languages.

2. Determine that since January 1, 1999 sale in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic of import food without information on them in the state or official languages is forbidden.

3. To the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State inspectorate for standardization and metrology under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, to the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic to make necessary changes to the corresponding regulations regulating trade in food products in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

4. The state customs inspection under the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic together with Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic to perform document creation on import of food only in the presence in the accompanying documentation and on goods of information in the state or official languages.

5. To the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State inspectorate for standardization and metrology under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, State customs inspection under the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic to carry out broad explanatory work in mass media on application of the Rules approved by this resolution.

1. These rules are developed according to the order of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic of June 23, 1997 No. 364 "About the work which is carried out by the State inspectorate for standardization and metrology under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on control of compliance with law of the Kyrgyz Republic "About consumer protection" and determine requirements imposed to the organizations and the individual entrepreneurs performing import of food to the Kyrgyz Republic and also to the state bodies providing control of quality of the import goods coming to the consumer market.

2. The organizations, physical persons performing import of food to the Kyrgyz Republic represent to monitoring bodies on the imported batch of food information in the state or official languages according to item 4 of these rules.

3. Information shall be placed on packaging or the label.

In case of small package sizes or the label on which it is impossible to place the necessary text completely the statement of information on goods or part it on the insert attached to each commodity unit is allowed

4. Information on the food imported into the Kyrgyz Republic shall contain the following data:

name of product and its type;

the country, producer company (the name of firm can be designated by letters of the Latin alphabet);

weight or amount of product;

the name of the main ingredients which are part of product including nutritional supplements;

nutrition value (caloric content, availability of vitamins - for the products intended for baby, clinical and dietary food);

storage conditions (for the products having limited terms, the validity or requiring special storage);

expiration date (final date of use or date of production and storage duration);

preparation method (for the semifinished products and products intended for baby food;

recommendations about use (for biologically active nutritional supplements);

application conditions, including contraindications in case of separate types of diseases.

5. And individual entrepreneurs bear responsibility according to the current legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic for violation of requirements of these rules of the organization.
