About the Anthem of the Republic of Armenia

This Law governs the relations connected with the Anthem of the Republic of Armenia and procedure for its use.
1. The anthem of the Republic of Armenia is one of the state symbols of the Republic of Armenia.
2. The anthem of the Republic of Armenia is the solemn piece of music performed according to the procedure, established by this Law.
3. The anthem of the Republic of Armenia is performed in vocal, tool, orchestral, choral, orchestral and choral options.
4. The anthem of the Republic of Armenia shall be performed in the musical and text edition approved by appendices 1-6 to this law according to officially the option published by the government of the Republic of Armenia on representation of authorized body of public administration by culture, separately for each of the options of execution specified in part 3 of this Article.

1. The anthem of the Republic of Armenia is without fail performed:
a) during the ceremony of bringing by the President of the Republic of Armenia oaths in case of assumption of office;
b) during official and ceremonies with participation of the President of the Republic of Armenia, the Chairman of National assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia;
c) when opening the first meeting of newly elected National assembly of the Republic of Armenia, and also during opening and closing of regular sessions;
d) when raising National flag of the Republic of Armenia during the official ceremonies held in the territory of the Republic of Armenia;
e) during the state and official visits to the Republic of Armenia of presidents, heads of legislature, Prime Ministers, official representatives of foreign states, heads of interstate and intergovernmental organizations – according to provisions of the state protocol of the Republic of Armenia;
e) during in the territory of the Republic of Armenia military parades, when raising National flag of the Republic of Armenia in the mornings and descent of National flag of the Republic of Armenia in the evenings in military units of Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and other troops, and also in other cases provided by army regulations and regulations;
g) in case of the announcement of the beginning and end of academic year in the higher educational institutions operating in the territory of the Republic of Armenia irrespective of pattern of ownership;
h) every Monday before lessons at all comprehensive schools, in preschool educational institutions, educational institutions realizing professional and average professional educational programs, operating in the territory of the Republic of Armenia irrespective of pattern of ownership.
2. The anthem of the Republic of Armenia can be performed:
a) during the ceremonies and events held by state bodies and local self-government of the Republic of Armenia and also the non-state organizations and other persons;

c) during the ceremonies of opening of monuments, memorials, memorial boards.
3. The procedure for execution of the Anthem in the cases established by this Article is determined by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
1. The anthem of the Republic of Armenia is broadcast by all TV companies and radio companies operating in the territory of the Republic of Armenia irrespective of pattern of ownership:
a) daily before the beginning and upon termination of broadcasting;
b) in case of the round-the-clock broadcasting – at 6 o'clock and at 24 o'clock;
c) on New Year's Eve – after striking of a clock on the Area of the Republic of the city of Yerevan.
2. The anthem of the Republic of Armenia can be performed by means of telebroadcasting with use of sound recording, video.
The anthem of the Republic of Armenia is performed during the official international competitions and the tournaments held in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, opening and closing of official national sporting events, and also awards ceremonies held during these actions and outside the territory of the Republic of Armenia according to the legislation of this state.
Cases of use of melody of the Anthem of the Republic of Armenia, except as specified, provided by this Law, are established by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
During in the territory of foreign states of official actions and ceremonies with participation of the state or other official delegations of the Republic of Armenia the Anthem of the Republic of Armenia sounds according to basic provisions of the state protocol of the Republic of Armenia and the legislation of this foreign state.
1. In case of execution of the Anthem of the Republic of Armenia attendees listen to him standing (in the presence of the Flag – turn facing the Flag, and during the official ceremonies - according to basic provisions of the state protocol of the Republic of Armenia), men – without headdresses.
2. Requirements imposed on the military personnel of Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and other troops in case of execution of the Anthem of the Republic of Armenia are established by military regulations and charters.
3. The deep respect for the Anthem of the Republic of Armenia is sacred obligation of each citizen.
Violation of requirements of this Law attracts responsibility according to the procedure, established by the law.
This Law becomes effective for the tenth day after its official publication.
