The Ministry of Defence of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan which are hereinafter referred to as by the Parties
being guided by the Contract on eternal friendship between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan of April 8, 1997 and the Contract between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan on cooperation in military area of April 8, 1997,
recognizing need of combination of efforts and coordinated actions for questions of ensuring reliable joint defense within general strategic space,
agreed as follows:
The parties charge practical implementation of provisions of this agreement to the General staff of the Ministry of Defence of the Kyrgyz Republic and the General Staff of Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan which are hereinafter referred to as by Authorized bodies.
Authorized bodies annually, not later III quarter of the current year, coordinate the list and terms of holding joint actions of operational preparation and reflect them in the plans of training of Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Authorized bodies by mutual consent specify the list and terms of holding joint actions for preparation of governing bodies and troops (forces). About changes of subject or postponement of the planned actions, the Parties inform each other not later than one month till their beginning.
For development of documents of joint actions of operational preparation Authorized bodies create the joint working group headed by the head of the planned action.
During implementation of this agreement of the Party shall provide protection of the classified information according to the Agreement on mutual ensuring safety of interstate secrets from January 22, 1993 signed within the Commonwealth of Independent States.
In case of development of joint plans of operational preparation of governing bodies and troops (forces) Authorized bodies recognize that financial, technical, rear, medical, special and other types of providing troops (forces) are performed by each of the Parties for the benefit of the troops (forces) allocated for participation in joint actions.
According to the mutual arrangement of the Parties changes or additions which are drawn up by the separate protocols which are integral part of this agreement can be made to this agreement.
In case of disputes of the Party will resolve them by negotiation.
This agreement becomes effective from the moment of its signing.
The agreement is signed for a period of five years and will be prolonged automatically for the subsequent 5-year periods if any of the Parties in writing does not declare the desire to stop its action at least, than in six months prior to the expiration of the corresponding period.
It is made in the city of Almaty on July 29, 1998 in duplicate, everyone in the Kyrgyz, Kazakh and Russian languages, and all texts are equally authoritative.
In case of disagreements in interpretation of provisions of this agreement of the Party will be guided by the text in Russian.
