The Republic of Kazakhstan and the Azerbaijan Republic which further are referred to as with the Parties
based on the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Azerbaijan Republic on differentiation of bottom of the Caspian Sea between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Azerbaijan Republic of November 29, 2001 (further - "Agreement"),
for the purpose of determination of geographical coordinates of the median line of demarcation of sites of bottom and subsoil of the Caspian Sea,
agreed as follows:
The this Protocol of the Party establish geographical coordinates of passing of the median line of demarcation of sites of bottom and subsoil of the Caspian Sea between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Azerbaijan Republic (The catalog of geographical coordinates of the median line of demarcation - Appendix 1) which is under construction on the basis of equal removal from starting basic points on the coastline and islands (The catalog of geographical coordinates of starting basic points - Appendix 2).
The initial point of the median line of demarcation is the point of joint of the lines of demarcation of sites of bottom and subsoil of the Caspian Sea between the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Azerbaijan Republic and the Russian Federation, with coordinates 42 °33', the 6th northern latitude and 49 °53', 3 east longitudes.
Final point of the median line of demarcation is the point with coordinates 41 °32', 4 northern latitudes and 50 °56', the 6th east longitude which can be accepted as point of joint of the lines of demarcation of sites of bottom and subsoil of the Caspian Sea between the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Azerbaijan Republic and Turkmenistan that shall be fixed in the tripartite agreement between them.
The median line of demarcation is applied on the Scheme of the median line of demarcation of sites of bottom and subsoil of the Caspian Sea approved by the Parties between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Azerbaijan Republic (Appendix 3).
The this Protocol becomes effective according to the procedure, provided articles 7 of the Agreement which integral part it is.
It is made in the city of Baku on February 27, 2003 in two authentic copies, everyone in the Kazakh, Azerbaijani and Russian languages, and all texts are equally authoritative. For the purpose of interpretation of provisions of the this Protocol of the Party will address to the text in Russian.
