The government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan which are hereinafter referred to as the party

for the purpose of creating favorable conditions for tourism development and more complete acquaintance with history and cultural life of three states;

proceeding from mutual interest and cooperation increase, decided to sign this agreement as follows:

Article 1

The parties will promote cooperation increase in the field of tourism for the purpose of acquaintance of citizens of the states with achievements in the field of economy, social development, culture, with the nature and sights, and also with historical monuments and national traditions of the people of three countries.

Article 2

The parties will cooperate in area of development of the international tourism on the basis of equality, mutual advantage and for the purpose of increase in tourist flow promote simplification of visa, customs formalities, exchange lists of travel companies.

Article 3

The parties will promote experience exchange in all fields of the international and internal tourism, to help cooperation between the national tourist administrations of the Parties and other organizations dealing with issues of tourism and its development.

Article 4

The parties will also promote distribution of tourist information for attraction of flow of tourists by the publication of promotional materials, exchange of information, printing editions, exhibitions, movies and carrying out different symposiums and seminars.

Article 5

The parties will give mutual aid in personnel training of tourist complexes and to promote exchange of specialists of relevant organs in tourism, to promote the relevant departments and the interested organizations in creation of joint businesses and in implementation of other investment projects in the field of tourism.

Article 6

The parties through the relevant tourist organs will perform exchange of opinions on cooperation, work experience on activities in the international tourism organizations.

Article 7

The parties, in case of need, will hold consultations on the questions connected with accomplishment of this agreement.

Article 8

The parties, for the purpose of development of bonds in the field of tourism, shall take the measures conforming to international standards for safety and protection of tourist trips.

Article 9

This agreement becomes effective from the date of delivery on storage to depositary of the last notification on accomplishment by the parties of the interstate procedures necessary for its introduction which signed it in force, and is effective within five years. According to the mutual arrangement of the Party can extend the term of its action.

Each Party can stop the participation in the Agreement by the direction to depositary of the formal written notice of the intention to leave the Agreement at least in six months.

It is made in the city of Tashkent on December 8, 1997 in one authentic copy in Russian.

The authentic copy is in Executive committee of Interstate Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan which sends its verified copy to each State Party.
